Nalan is struggling with an unfulfilled desire to have children, while her relationship with David is being put to the test. The fertility treatment becomes an emotional strain. Anna, meanwhile, is slowly finding her footing in a new life after separating from her husband. However, she must first let go of her familiar role as the caretaker and learn to take her own needs seriously. She navigates single life and perimenopause. Greta, on the other hand, throws herself into the daily routine at the clinic with idealism and dedication after her exams. But after an especially demanding shift in the delivery room, she begins to question the challenges of her dream job—and her feelings for Dr. Mohn. Amid all their personal struggles, the three midwives push through the realities of hospital life, confronting issues such as surrogacy, unplanned pregnancies, unsettling prenatal diagnostics, breast engorgement, vacuum-assisted births, and perineal tears.

HELENE WEIGEL
REVOLUTIONÄRIN IM RAMPENLICHT
PREMIERE | 8th of May 2026
DOK.fest Munich

The feature documentary about Helene Weigel—one of the defining women of the twentieth century—offers a compelling portrait of an extraordinary political artist, antifascist, acting icon, and founder of the Berliner Ensemble. Using rich archival material, the film traces her path from early theater work through exile during the Nazi regime to her central role in shaping one of Europe’s most influential theater companies.
Moving beyond her long-standing portrayal as “the woman at Brecht’s side,” the film reveals Weigel as a driving creative force and visionary in her own right. It highlights her challenge to bourgeois conventions and her pursuit of new artistic, political, and personal paths. The result is a nuanced portrait of a committed communist and free spirit whose life reflects the upheavals and contradictions of the twentieth century.

The young hotel manager Millie has inherited the Prinzenhof from her grandparents and is trying—sometimes desperately, sometimes highly motivated—to keep her hotel running. Together with her team, which consists of her best friend and head of security Adriana, concierge Charles, head chef Franca, and bartender Rafael, Millie does her best to satisfy guests from near and far, often using unconventional methods. Each episode tells the story of a night shift of the hotel crew until dawn and their encounters with both welcome and unwelcome night owls, homeless people who couldn't get a room anywhere else, guests who stumble into the hotel late after Oktoberfest, and/or those who use the hotel bar as an emotional refuge.
Supposed VIP guests, romantic pest control missions, a notoriously empty hotel cash register, very special guest requests—all this and much more is handled by the “Nighties.” And even when claws come out in disputes over special treasures from the hotel’s lost and found: at daybreak, at the end of their shift, Rafael serves the rest of the team the obligatory nightcap, a “Blutgrätsche.”

When a body washes up on the banks of the Weser, Bremen investigators Linda Selb and Liv Moormann are faced with a mystery. At first, there are no clues as to the identity of the deceased. During their investigation, the detectives not only encounter stalkers and their victims, but also explosive investigative research and toxic dependencies. Meanwhile, Rani Ewers is living a nightmare: her ex-boyfriend Marek Kolschak is lurking everywhere for the single mother and her daughter Mia—at the playground, on the street, in front of their house. After returning from a playground visit, Rani finds her framed family photos on the wall defaced, prompting her roommate Paula Södersen to urge her to finally report him to the police. Forensic pathologist Edda Bingley provides the team with crucial evidence. As clear-cut as the case initially seems, the boundaries become increasingly blurred: witnesses turn into suspects and suspects into witnesses, who suddenly find themselves in mortal danger.
